Qaeda-Iraq Link U.S. Cited Is Tied to Coercion Claim - New York Times:

"The Bush administration based a crucial prewar assertion about ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda on detailed statements made by a prisoner while in Egyptian custody who later said he had fabricated them to escape harsh treatment, according to current and former government officials."

This article covers so many flaws in the Bush Administration, it's almost comical. I love you the GOP is now backpedeling and making off like they have some interventionist, Freedom loving policy: anyone who tortures as a matter of policy has no love for freedom. Anyone who make a policy of spinning every "fact" that comes out of their administration has no love of freedom or democracy. Anyone whose story of history changes to suit political tide (i.e. we went there to liberate iraq vs. iraq is a terrorist threat linked with al-qaeda) has no love for democracy.

The GOP is a lying bunch of shiesters that need to be taken from office and politics alltogether. Lets keep the liberatarians, the fiscal GOP, but the relgious and neo-con wings have to have their tyranny of lies and wars ended.

If the GOP really cared about all this stuff, their record previous to GWB would show it. They fought Clinton tooth and nail when he went on peacekeeping and pro-democracy missions throughout the world. Now that they're doing it (and doing it horribly, I might add), they pretend like it was their idea.
